Dance is Music Turned into Motion
Styles
BALLET
A theatrical representation of a story by means of dance or pantomimic action accompanied by music.
Hip Hop
A free form of jazz dance, which uses individual expression, incorporated in with the choreography. It's street dancing with an emphasis on the drum and bass beats.
Jazz
A rhythmic stylized form of dance. Jazz is theatrical and full of energy. Using kicks, leaps, jumps, and turns while dancing to up-beat music.
TAP
A form of dance in which, the feet create rhythmic sounds.
Lyrical
Lyrical dance tells a story or gives a message through expression and movement that is smooth, fluid, and controlled. It has a very strong ballet foundation with a modern twist.
ACRO
A combination of strength, flexibility, balance, rhythm, timing, and controlled movement. It combines acrobatic skills or “tricks” with other forms of dance to add a new dimension to the dance.
